Particulate pollutants like dust, smoke, and aerosols are stopped by FFP3 masks. EN 149:2001+A1:2009 makes sure that these are the same all over the European Union.

Did you know?

FFP3 masks can be used with up to 20 times the workplace exposure limit of a contaminant (WEL).

They protect against harmful and cancer-causing water and oil-based particles, as well as radioactive particles, airborne biological agents from risk groups 2+3, and enzymes.

The total amount of light that gets through an FFP3 mask is no more than 2%. At least 99 percent of the pollutants are taken out of the air that is breathed in.

An FFP3 mask is often used when working with heavy metals, hardwood, brake dust, radioactive materials, pathogens like viruses, bacteria, and fungal spores, as well as when welding stainless steel.
